During my lifetime I have been in close proximity to extreme cases of child abuse, child abduction and attempted abduction. My introduction to this ugly part of our society started early in life.

Two girls were abducted and killed in separate incidents approximately one mile from my home. The incidents happened about one year apart. A couple of years later, during my early teens, my basketball teammate was abducted walking home from school. She was found several states away, abused but alive.

During my late twenties, my friend's daughter was asked by a stranger driving by to get in his car and go to a well known kid friendly establishment. Luckily, a neighbor overheard the conversation while on his porch and was able to intervene in the possible abduction.

Now in my forties, my own daughter had been babysitting for a neighbor who turned out to be a registered sex offender. Nothing occurred while in this man's company, however, my daughter has not felt safe since then, even in our home.

Later the same year, I have received information on two different children close to me who have experienced sexual abuse.

During this year, myself and the entire nation have observed heart wrenching cases of children being destroyed by sexual predators. The Jessica Lunsford case was the final "straw that broke the camel's back" for me. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of our children falling prey to this madness. Let's join together and make a difference for the future innocence and safety of all our children.
